Mr. Gaiman you have 56k unanswered asks and this is the one you choose to answer

You know, the tragedy of Tumblr is there’s absolutely no way to go back into the 56000 unanswered asks, other than to scroll down a screen at a time and be patient. Which means that there are brilliant, perspicacious and wonderful observations and questions in there, some of which I’ve never seen, many of which I read, thought “Oh, that deserves a proper answer” and then never saw again. They aren’t searchable.

So I am much more likely to tend to answer something on the screen when I open the inbox.

People say that old games dont look as good as they remember

Its because they legitimately dont.

The “fuzz” from CRT monitors was something that was definitely accounted for and taken advantage of back in the day when it came to video games! While this effect is noticeable in 3D games, it’s MUCH more visible when it comes to 2D sprites:

Just look how much more depth these simple sprites of Princess Peach and Bowser from Super Mario RPG seem to have when seen through the “dots” of a CRT TV screen!

I somehow did not know this!?!?!?

One of the clearest examples of this is using the effect for transparent waterfalls in the MegaDrive Sonic games

My absolutely favourite example of this is with Dracula’s eyes in Castlevania

when housecats are small its awesome and when theyre big its also awesome. the bigger or smaller a cat is, the better. but there’s also something so alluring about a perfectly average cat. you can’t go wrong

humankind…what more can I say. I can only aspire to have such deep and rich a human connection with anyone in this life that will be as radiant as a ceramic figural pair of dancing xolos

They’re also at the center of a roundabout

Mexican here, fun fact! While we call them “Dancing dogs”, they’re a young pup and an old dog, and the older one is revealing wisdoms right on the pup’s ear.

You’ll recognize the older dog bc he’s got wrinkles!! It’s a wonderful scene!!

Good news that we deserve 😌

for people who can’t watch the video: THE AMYGDALA CHANGES TRADITIONALLY FOUND IN MOTHERS SHOW UP IN ALL PRIMARY CAREGIVERS REGARDLESS OF SEX

Changes in this part of the brain were previously used to previously used to argue that women are the ideal primary caretakers of children in all cases. And apparently, it’s false. The reason they found these changes in women was that women were already the primary caretaker in almost all cases, not because there’s something inherent to women that makes them better parents.

this is big news for SAHF and single dads!

This is also big news for adoptive parents and queer couples! Many people try to argue that adoptive parents aren’t real parents because of biology and blah blah blah. Bigots will also argue this case against queer people. So, to all my traditionalists: it’s not science! It’s bigotry and sexist!
